Giovanni Rosso – Barolo Cerretta – 2018

Barolo Cerretta comes from the vineyard of the same name, located in the northern part of the commune of Serralunga, it has always been considered a great vineyard so much so that it has been mentioned by the most historical and important Barolo producers. What distinguishes this cru from the other mentions of Serralunga is precisely in the soils: here precisely there are layers of agglomerates slightly rich in clay and limestone, as opposed to rocky marls, giving the wines more feminine sensations and sweeter tannins. In this case the vines are about 30 years old, and the wine was aged for 24 months in large French oak barrels, plus two years in the bottle.

Since 2001 his son Davide, very young but already rich in experience in various wine-making realities, takes over the reins of the winery respecting a rigorous and traditional style.
