Luigi Baudana – Barolo Baudana – 2013

Luigi Baudana is the typical genuine Langa situation. A reality of only 2.5 hectares located right in the Baudana hamlet of Serralunga d’Alba. Historic winery, which has always owned the Baudana and Cerretta vineyards, became a true example thanks to Luigi Baudana and his love and passion for the land that he took care of for more than 30 years. From 2009 Luigi decided to entrust the works and the cellar to the Vajra family, precisely to give continuity to this project in a traditional way.
The Baudana vineyard is located on the northern ridge of the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba with soils more tending to clay with some limestone veins, thus giving Barolos slightly less austere than the lower part of the town. In this case the wine carries out the first part of fermentation in large wooden barrels, plus an aging for more than 30 months in cask. 50-year-old plants, this Barolo is intense, soft with well-structured tannins but with great acidity, aromas of violet, balsamic and licorice.
