Roberto Voerzio – Barolo La Serra – 2001

Roberto Voerzio, an icon of avant-garde viticulture in the Langhe. His style is unique, his love for wine and the land have led him to produce great wines. The facts are clear, 8000 vines per hectare, super selection of the bunches, aggressive thinning, 500 grams of grapes per plant (traditionally Piedmontese winemakers harvest about 2 kilograms). The work in the vineyards is more than maniacal, his plants are immediately recognizable by their cleanliness and order, and the philosophy of using only organic products and manure for the wellness of the vines does not go unnoticed.
He founded his winery in the 1980’s by buying the best vineyards with the most beautiful expositions, producing limited quantities for each cru with an amazing and unparalleled power and structure.
Brunate, La Serra, Cerequio, Rocche dell’Annunziata and Fossati are the homonymous vineyards where he vinifies in purity the various cru, all located in La Morra and always considered the most prestigious ones for the quality of grapes.
La Serra vineyard is the continuation of Fossati vineyard, but as opposed to it, wines tend to be fresher. Voerzio produces only 5000 bottles in the side of the vineyard with the best exposure, that is south east, creating a wine with a great timbre where it is recognizable the hand and its technique, but of a freshness and pleasantness without comparison.
In 2001 you will find an opulent wine, really delicious! Perfect to enjoy now
