Massolino – Barolo DOCG – 2017

Their entry-level Barolo is made from grapes sourced from these cru scattered throughout the Serralunga d’Alba commune. A full-bodied, classic and well-structured wine that is not afraid of aging. In 2017, this wine expresses the true power of Serralunga! Despite not being one of the most difficult vintages in the Langa due to the low rainfall, you can see the great skill of the producer here! Great tannins, straight, sharp as a blade.

Description

La storia dell’azienda inizia nel 1896 quando Giovanni, uomo tenace e intraprendente, decide di produrre vino credendo nella profonda affinità tra vite e territorio, investendo quindi nei vitigni autoctoni. Segue il figlio Giuseppe che fonda il consorzio di tutela del Barolo e Barbaresco.
Arrivati ora alla quarta generazione la cantina possiede 36 ettari vitati ed è riconosciuta a livello internazionale nonostante le piccole quantità prodotte grazie all’acquisto di alcuni vigneti tra i più vocati di tutta l’area del Barolo. Tra questi spicca Vigna Rionda, considerata il cru di eccellenza in Serralunga d’Alba,grazie al suolo calcareo marnoso ci regala vini imponenti e con un lungo potenziale d’invecchiamento.
