Paolo Manzone – Barolo Meriame – 2016

Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most renowned municipalities in the Barolo area, here stands a small winery run by Paolo Manzone and his wife Luisella.
Paolo true wine lover and oenologist, after years of consulting in various wineries, in ’99 he decided in agreement with his wife to start his own company. His unconventional style, somewhere between traditional and modern, made us fall in love from the first sip. Today the winery boasts 13 hectares cultivated mainly in the Meriame cru of Serralunga, in Sinio and in the Roero for the production of Arneis white wine, cared for in every detail with almost maniacal attention, respecting the environment as much as possible.

Meriame, a vineyard that rose to prominence only in recent times thanks to the soils rich in limestone and the particular amphitheater shape in more than optimal exposures, manages to give us earthy and beautiful wines. Here Paolo Manzone collects grapes from plants with more than 70 years of life producing a wine with a strong character, perfectly balanced and with a tannic and persistent finish. Meriame 2016 is an exceptionally balanced wine, moribidity and tannins are in perfect harmony, in an amazing vintage, like 2016, Paolo Manzone manages to fully reflect expectations. A bottle to keep for a long time in your cellar.
