Luigi Spertino – Barbera d’Asti Superiore Vigna La Mandorla – 2017

We are in the Asti area, precisely in the municipality of Mombercelli, where since 1977 Luigi Spertino has been producing wines with a unique and unmistakable essence. Today it is his son Mauro, a worthy heir, who immediately embraced his father’s work ethic by carrying on ancient farming practices. The work in the vineyard is demanding, the tractors do not enter the rows and all the operations are carried out manually, for this reason the production remains limited.
For its barbera the grapes are harvested from the locality of Almond from which it takes its name. The vineyards have a steep slope, the exposures are optimal, the plants are very old, adding the skilful hand of a true farmer the result can only be phenomenal.
A wine that reflects the peasant soul of these lands, rough, complex and with a great aging potential. The bottles produced are only 4000, what are you still waiting for ?!
