Description

The history of Beringer wines dates back to 1868, when the Beringer brothers originally from Germany decided to embark for the New World and to seek a future in America. The two found fertile, rocky soils in the Napa Valley, very similar to their native Germany, so they decided to buy 80 hectares and start wine production. They were among the first to focus on quality, so much so that they dug entire tunnels underground for aging and preserved the wines at a constant temperature of 14 degrees. Of course, they are also among the pioneers for viticulture in Napa! They produce mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Zinfandel, and now after a century since the winery’s founding, it is great-grandson Mark who continues to carry on the project. Despite being a rather large winery, the standard of quality is very high, to be recognized each year with awards and accolades.
