Wittmann – Riesling Kirchspiel GG – 2011

Rheinhessen is among the hottest regions for the production of Germanic riesling, the wines from here have a more Mediterranean style, with less acidity and minerality, more concentration and consistency, more evident fruity notes.
Weingut Wittmann is the producer that best represents this area with natural vinifications from biodynamic vineyards.
In the cellar, the grapes are left to ferment spontaneously in old 3000 liter wooden barrels, and then leave them on the lees until bottling with a single filtration.
Wittmann wines clearly differ from each other in their natural characteristics.
The Kirchspiel is a historic vineyard that opens amphitheatrically towards the Rhine, enjoys a perfect microclimate for the ripening of the grapes. The soil rich in clay and limestone marl gives the wine a unique and deep character. Fruity notes alternate with a mineral part, powerful and elegant, a wine of substance.
