In 2019 due to a virtually non-existent spring, cold weather with frosts present in late May, and a scorching heat between August and October, Andrea Franchetti decided to use Cabernet Franc and Merlot as his blend. It was a cooler vintage where many bunches were left on the vine because of a too thin skin, but despite the more critical situation, Franchetti managed to make a great wine which however plays more on structure and drinkability and not on power or roundness. Always number one.
