Tenuta di Trinoro – Bianco Trinoro Toscana Igt – 2021

The Bianco di Trinoro is the newcomer to the market, released for the first time with the 2017 vintage, despite the fact that the vineyards are some 20 years old. This is because Franchetti wants to make great wines, and sell them only when he deems them to be so. A production limited to very few bottles, about 1,000, of 100% Sémillon. A great wine, fully respecting the characteristics of a French variety. It is a full wine, with an explosive citrus bouquet, in the mouth a nice roundness, but with a finish of great acidity. A memorable bottle.

Description

We are in Val d’Orcia on the border with Umbria and Lazio, in a corner of Tuscany where Andrea Franchetti, after many, many years of all-around experience in the Bordeaux area, discovered in Sarteano gravelly conditions and soils similar to those of St. Emilion. Right there, he decided to create Tenuta di Trinoro in the 1980s and plant the same grape varieties as in Bordeaux. Absurdly manic work in the vineyard, with high planting density and very low yields, minimal approach in the winery, his wines are unique, full and warm. Great wines.
