Sukula – Barolo Meriame – 2017

Barolo Meriame comes precisely from the prestigious cru in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, from soils rich in clay and limestone, plants in a west and southwest exposure at an altitude between 230 and 360 meters above sea level. After vinification in steel tanks, the wine is aged in tonneaux for 24 months plus an equal 2 years in the bottle. This Barolo can be described as a real overachiever, muscular, tannic and dry, with unique aromas of eucalyptus and peach blossoms. Powerful and intriguing.

Description

From Finland with love, this is how we can start talking about Sukula Farm, it was 2006 when Riikka and her husband Jyrki manage to buy a small vineyard with attached farmhouse in the prestigious cru Meriame.
Currently, the property, in organic conversion, covers about two hectares planted exclusively with Nebbiolo and Barbera grapes, where the work in the vineyard is meticulously carried out by husband and wife while in the winery they rely on the enological advice of Giorgio Rivetti.
The ideals pursued by Riikka are very simple, love and passion for the land, research and study to constantly improve and absolute respect for each individual vine to ensure that it expresses itself at its best.
