Salvioni – Brunello di Montalcino – 2015
Salvioni’s wines are an institution when it comes to Tuscany. We are in the heart of Montalcino, a very small family business that has cultivated only 4 hectares of Sangiovese vineyard since 1980, with one of the most privileged exposure, i.e. south-east, giving an extra freshness and edge to the wines. The philosophy of the winery is very concrete and simple: only great wines are made, and great Brunellis !! …. If the quality conditions are not present, everything is downgraded to Rosso di Montalcino.
The style is to use indigenous yeasts in fermentation and large oak barrels for refinement.
For the production of Brunello they use vines aged between 15 and 30 years, with yields per hectare from 25 to 45 quintals … an extreme job and only based on the concept of quality! One of the best Brunellos ever, pleasant, warm and enveloping .. you will certainly not tire of drinking this gem, then in the 2015 vintage! the best of recent times for Tuscany.
