Description

In the heart of the Cote de Beaune, in the village of Meursault lies domaine Rougeot Père et fils, a small family-run winery that no longer goes unnoticed. Founded in 1926 in an old farmhouse from the 1700s that it already owned, the business began during the 1970s with Marc Rougeot, who replanted and purchased parcels in some of the most significant Cru: Meursault, Monthelie, St.Romain, Pommard and Volnay. Today the winery is carried on by his son Pierre-Henry, who manages 13 hectares where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are grown (vineyards from 40 to 90 years old!) along with a small part of Aligoté and Gamay, all using Organic methods that earned certification in 2020. A style rich in tradition is followed, manual work with spontaneous and separate vinifications of each parcel, maceration of whole clusters with little or even no sulfur added during the process, aging in oak barrels longer than 12 months. One of the most interesting Domaine to discover this world. Bienvenue en Bourgogne!
