Rivetto – Barolo Briccolina – 2019
Briccolina is the Rivetto family’s first vineyard to be certified Demeter biodynamic, so much so that it is considered an open garden. The winery manages less than one hectare of vineyard with plants over 60 years old producing about 2,000 bottles a year. Thanks to the calcareous, ancient soils and the perfect balance of southwest exposure and 350-meter altitude, the Barolo produced here is particularly rich in complexity with deep tannic texture and minerality. A wine of extreme aging potential. The wine in this case after 2 months of maceration in steel tanks was aged for 24 months in large oak barrels and almost 4 years in the bottle. Typical expression of Serralunga for taut tannins and great structure.

Description
The history of the Rivetto winery began back in 1902, on the hill between Serralunga d’Alba and Sinio. A history made of sacrifices, hard work and much, much passion that passion handed down from generation to generation has come down to Enrico the last heir. Always for the Rivetto family, wines must contain at the same time the poetry of an ancient history and the actuality of a new philosophy, but above all they must respect the identity of the grape variety and its territory of origin. The latest dream fulfilled, is that of Enrico’s open-minded and forward-looking mind, which wanted to distinguish itself and obtain the Demeter biodynamic certificate. Pioneer of a new movement in which there is no longer profit as the focal point, profit at any cost, willing to any kind of exploitation, of soil, resources, labor but a deep love for one’s land.
