Barolo Perno comes from the vineyard of the same name located in the eastern side of the commune of Monforte d’Alba. This vineyard was already mentioned in 1800, but only in the last years it has been recognized and revaluated for the quality of its Nebbiolo. In this case the winery produces this cru in pureness only since 2015, in limited quantity of 5000 bottles. Vinified for 24 months in 2500 liters casks and barriques, the remaining 6 months in bottle. A memorable bottle. It perfectly enhances the limestone/clay soils giving dark wines in coffee and tobacco aromas, dry but also opulent and full. Bomb.

Raineri winery is a real gem, it can be defined as part of those new wave or garagiste projects, new situations, genuine, no frills. The idea was born in 2005 thanks to the friendship born among the desks of the enological school between Fabrizio Giraudo and Gianmatteo Raineri. Being in love with wine, after some experience in wineries of the Langa region, their dream came true with the creation of a few bottles of Dolcetto initially, up to the production of great wines such as Barolo in the commune of Monforte. The road for the boys was not easy at all! Only after 10 years of hard work they managed to find the perfect style and to vinify their first Barolo wines coming from single vineyards by investing on two micro plots such as Perno and Castelletto cru. The style of the winery is dynamic, young but without forgetting the tradition and the respect for the land, taking care of every little detail and the work is done only by hand without the help of any technician. One of the best new discoveries of the last decade!
