Paolo Manzone – Barolo Riserva – 2016
Barolo Riserva is produced only in the best vintages, with 70-year-old vines from the Meriame vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba. Thanks to the southwest exposure, very low yields of 50 quintals per hectare, and compact soils rich in limestone, the vines here enjoy optimal ripening giving the wines complexity, flesh and deep tannins. The wine has aged in tonneaux and large barrels for 3 years, plus 2 years in ceramic tanks and 1 year in bottle. A refined wine with dry notes, vegetal and licorice scents, powerful but silky tannins. A wine that can deliver resounding results over the years.

Description
Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most renowned municipalities in the Barolo area, here stands a small winery run by Paolo Manzone and his wife Luisella.
Paolo true wine lover and oenologist, after years of consulting in various wineries, in ’99 he decided in agreement with his wife to start his own company. His unconventional style, somewhere between traditional and modern, made us fall in love from the first sip. Today the winery boasts 13 hectares cultivated mainly in the Meriame cru of Serralunga, in Sinio and in Roero for the production of the white Arneis, cared for in every detail with almost maniacal attention, respecting the environment as much as possible.
