Paolo Manzone – Barolo Meriame – 2019

Meriame is the single vineyard where the Manzone winery planted the foundations for the production of the famous barolos and the creation of the winery. The vineyard is located under the commune of Serralunga d’alba, fully exposed to south/west it enjoys soils rich in limestone and clay ensuring excellent structure to the Barolo nebbiolos. For this Barolo the winery uses older plants of an average of 60 years old, while in the cellar after the vinification part carried out in steel tanks, aging was done in both small and large oak barrels for at least two years. This is a true Barolo from Serralunga, where power and tannin find the perfect marriage.

Description

Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most renowned municipalities in the Barolo area, here stands a small winery run by Paolo Manzone and his wife Luisella.
Paolo true wine lover and oenologist, after years of consulting in various wineries, in ’99 he decided in agreement with his wife to start his own company. His unconventional style, somewhere between traditional and modern, made us fall in love from the first sip. Today the winery boasts 13 hectares cultivated mainly in the Meriame cru of Serralunga, in Sinio and in the Roero for the production of Arneis white wine, cared for in every detail with almost maniacal attention, respecting the environment as much as possible.
