Nervi – Gattinara Vigna Valferana – 2014

It is the most historic winery in Gattinara, in 2018 it was bought by Roberto Conterno, owner of the prestigious Giacomo Conterno winery, famous for the Barolo Riserva Monfortino. The hectares they own are 24, managed with the utmost respect for the territory, traditional methods are adopted in the cellar together with innovative systems. The soils in this area are rich in volcanic porphyry and are particularly suited for the production of Nebbiolo.
The vineyards owned are four, Molsino, Valferana, Garavoglie and Casacce.
Valferana is an ancient Nebbiolo vineyard located on the hills of Gattinara, plants with an average age of 30 years at an altitude of 320 meters above sea level, in this area we find soils of volcanic origin rich in iron minerals that give us wines of great expressive purity. Freshness, minerality but also austerity and depth. A wine that will surprise you with its surprising personality.
