Mauro Veglio – Barolo Castelletto – 2015

The history of this winery is very recent, we are in 1992 when Mauro and Daniela, both children of winemakers used to selling grapes, realizing the potential in their hands, decide to build their company. Both want to cut the past, start again from scratch by focusing on quality, clean wines, ready with the moderate use of small woods. In the vineyard the work is as natural as possible, the yields per hectare are very low and in the cellar we find a perfect balance between tradition and innovation in fact the final result is a product of the highest level. Mauro Veglio had understood from the beginning the potential of the Castelletto cru in fact he was the first, in 1996, to use its name on the label, long before its official recognition. Thanks to the limestone soil and the more ventilated microclimate, the wines from this area are tannic but fresher, limited production, an aromatic, intriguing Barolo of great intensity and with a decidedly elegant finish.

Productive Notes: :Maceration with the skins for 12 days, fermentation in steel tanks. Subsequently the wine is aged in small oak barrels (30% new and 70% second and third passage) for 24 months.
