Massolino – Barolo DOCG – 2016

The history of the company began in 1896 when Giovanni, a tenacious and enterprising man, decided to produce wine believing in the deep affinity between vine and territory, thus investing in indigenous vines. Followed by his son Giuseppe who founded the consortium for the protection of Barolo and Barbaresco.
Now in its fourth generation, the winery has 36 hectares of vineyards and is recognized internationally despite the small quantities produced thanks to the purchase of some of the most suitable vineyards in the whole Barolo area. Among these, Vigna Rionda stands out, considered the cru of excellence in Serralunga d’Alba, thanks to the marly limestone soil it gives us impressive wines with a long aging potential.
Their entry Barolo is made with grapes from these crus scattered in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba.
A full-bodied, classic and well-structured wine that does not fear aging. 2016, una di quelle annate da comprare e fare scorta, pochi aggettivi per descriverla: eccezionale, maestosa, outstanding! Cosa state ancora aspettando?!
