Luigi Baudana – Barolo Cerretta – 2013
Luigi Baudana is the typical genuine Langa situation. A reality of only 2.5 hectares located right in the Baudana hamlet of Serralunga d’Alba. Historic winery, which has always owned the Baudana and Cerretta vineyards, became a true example thanks to Luigi Baudana and his love and passion for the land that he took care of for more than 30 years. From 2009 Luigi decided to entrust the works and the cellar to the Vajra family, precisely to give continuity to this project in a traditional way.
The Cerretta vineyard is located on the opposite side of Baudana, but the soils are more prone to limestone giving the wines a different and wider structure. In this case, the plants date back to the 1970s and the wine has aged for more than 30 months in large oak barrels. It is a persuasive, austere wine, vertical and fresh tannins, scents of licorice and menthol.
