La Visciola – Donna Rosa Passerina del Frusinate – 2018
La Visciola is an icon when it comes to Cesanese del Piglio. About 3 hectares of vineyards, the winery was founded in 2005 and is managed on a family level by Piero Macciocca and his wife Rosa Alessandri. Authentic winery, no frills, respecting the land, using green manure and copper and organically grown, even in the cellar there are only a few steel and concrete tanks and two wooden barrels. In short, representative and territorial wines are produced here in less than 10,000 bottles in total.
The winery mainly produces Cesanese divided into three plots and the white Passerina.
“Donna Rosa” is the only white that the family produces with only the native Passerina del Frusinate grape, it makes contact with the skins for about 12 hours and looks like a dry, fresh wine but with herbaceous scents in the aromas. Complex.
