I Vigneri – Aurora Vino Bianco – 2019

I Vigneri is a project of winemakers led by the renowned oenologist Salvo Foti, to protect and produce Etna wines with the utmost respect for the territory while preserving the origins and tradition of Etna viticulture. The Vigneri movement was actually born in Catania in 1400 as a group of farmers, but the same philosophy was taken up again some thirty years ago by the Foti family. They only take care of 5 hectares of vineyards, respecting nature, using and rediscovering native vineyards and even in the cellar no technology is used. The purpose of this project is to produce and make known the true essence of the Etnean territory.
The Aurora white is produced with a large part of Carricante grapes and a small part of the rare Minnella grape. Vineyards at 800 meters above sea level, this wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks where it remains for a few months for refinement. It is a dry, savory and slightly round wine, with jasmine and balsamic aromas along with some notes of tropical fruit. Territorial wine.
