Hilberg-Pasquero – Nebbiolo d’Alba – 2013
Hilberg-Pasquero is one of the most dynamic and true wineries in the Langa and Roero area. The pasquero family has been cultivating vineyards and land in the heart of Roero, precisely in Priocca, with all the love and passion for its territory since the twentieth century.
The winery had a qualitative but above all innovative turning point thanks to Michelangelo Pasquero, very much in love with the land with him, but also curious and ready to learn about new techniques to cultivate the land without intervening with chemicals. After studying at the university, Michelangelo moves to Germany and Sweden to deepen the techniques of organic agriculture, in these trips he meets Annette, where their love and passion for the land unites them. Back home together, the two began to cultivate beyond the vineyards, but also vegetables, with a different mentality, more attentive and biodynamic agriculture. The winery cultivates only 6 hectares of nebbiolo, barbera, dolcetto and brachetto, a few bottles, but genuine wines, which need time, but above all with the aim of being harmonious.
Nebbiolo d’Alba is produced in less than 5000 bottles, and undergoes an important refinement of 2 years in French barriques and another two in the bottle. If you are looking for a fresh Nebbiolo to drink, this is not it! The wine is very balanced and the tannins are fine, typical of the Roero area, but it also has great texture and body. Long persistence. This is a noteworthy Nebbiolo.
