Girolamo Russo – Etna Bianco Nerina – 2019

Etna wines have become the new fashion but thirty years ago who would have believed it? Girolamo Russo is one of the first to produce wine in this area and to give a true identity to the company by starting to bottle the first bottles. With his untimely death in 2005, he leaves everything in the hands of his son Giuseppe, a former professor with a passion for wine and his territory in his blood. The winery is located on the northern side of Etna and consists of three plots between 650 and 800 meters high, the vineyards are grown organically and its wines taste of Sicily, impactful and with a strong personality. Etna Bianco Nerina comes from three different districts at 700 meters above sea level. Mainly Carricante grapes and other native grapes, it is the classic Etna wine! Here the volcano is clearly perceived, with the aromas of stone mixed with tropical fruits, both fat and savory in the mouth!
