Giovanni Viberti – Barolo Buon Padre – 2016
Giovanni Viberti one of the most historic wineries ever in the whole Barolo area, the company was actually born as an inn in 1923, the wine was produced in the basement and then served to its guests, in 1927 the first vintage of the Good Father, the style is traditionalist, the fermentations are still carried out in wooden vats and aging in large 50 hectolitre barrels. Today we have reached the third generation, 10 hectares cultivated with the utmost respect for the earth, selecting the best grapes and therefore reducing the quantities and increasing the quality. The fragrance, freshness and richness present in all its wines has always impressed us.
Barolo Buon Padre is the most historic label of the company, a wine made as it once was, a skilful assembly of eight different crus, harvested and vinified separately. The first sip will surprise you with its freshness, followed by structure and softness with important but non-invasive tannins.
