Gabriele Scaglione – Barbera D’Alba ‘I Quattro Conigli Bianchi’ – 2016

Barbera d’Alba “I quattro conigli” comes from a small vineyard located in the heart of Roero in Canale, with 30 years old plants and soils of ancient origin but rich in sand, which give more crispness and acidity to the wines. The wine was aged for 18 months in large oak barrels. Here we have brought you the 2016 vintage, one of the best in the last 20 years. Notes of berries accompanied by a full round mouthfeel and savoriness. What a gem!

Description

I like to define Gabriele Scaglione as an artist, each of his wines is connected to a story expressing pure soul and essence of the vintage and of each particular terroir. He was born in Canelli, in the land of sparkling wines, and he has always been fascinated by the wine world, but his working path was quite different…only about twenty years ago he totally changed his life trying to do what he liked the most: making wine!!! With great research he selected the best exposures and vineyards between Roero, Langa and Monferrato to produce great wines, in small quantities with all respect for nature and for the aging times. Today Gabriele manages about 12 hectares and the winery is located in Canelli. Fun wines and labels, out of the usual schemes but made with great technique!!!!
