Franco Conterno – Barolo Riserva Bussia – 2017
Bussia is the most significant vineyard for the Conterno family, as it is here that the winery’s roots lie, where their first Barolo labels were born. This vineyard is located in the heart of the municipality of Monforte, famous for its compact soils rich in brown clay, which give the wines earthy notes and dry tannins. The winery, with vines that are around 60 years old, produces Barolo with the Riserva designation, where the wine is aged for 48 months in large oak barrels and 1 year in the bottle. A must in the Conterno Franco wine selection, even in older vintages the wine is always perfect, where notes of undergrowth combine with roundness and pulp. Always a guarantee.

In the heart of the Langhe region, in the hamlet of Bussia near Monforte, Cascina Sciulun was founded in the late 19th century. It has always been owned by the Conterno family, who have been producing wines for years, following a philosophy centered on the balance between man and nature. Today, the estate comprises 28 hectares located in the best crus for the production of Barolo. Their love for the land is applied in all phases, from the vineyard to the cellar, where the wood considered most suitable is used for each type of grape. Franco Conterno’s wines are distinguished by the great pleasure they express from the very first moment.
