Fattoria Nannì – Origini Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva – 2020
The winery’s flagship wine, born from Roberto’s searching mind to give life to a Verdicchio that enhances the entire area of origin of this grape through procedures of absolute precision. We are inside the Castelli di Jesi appellation, it is produced from vines between 40 and 60 years old at 450 meters above sea level where sea breezes arrive that together with the limestone-rich soils give aromaticity and minerality to the grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are chilled in a cold room overnight, after which they are gently pressed the next day and during this step immediately racked into steel tanks where they remain another night before racking again to remove the last residues. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts through three passages at different temperatures, after which it is racked again remaining then in contact with the lees for 18-24 months with weekly punching down before bottling, all while respecting the vintages. One finds in the glass a white wine counted among the best in Italy, from the aromas one perceives the purity of the grape juice with well-defined floral and fruity notes, on the palate it reveals great freshness with marked marine flavors that give numerous vibrations sip after sip increasing its final persistence.

Description
If you take a dip in the Marche region, among its many natural and cultural attractions the world of wine has found its proper dimension where, thanks to its territory, extraordinary grapes such as Verdicchio are grown. A young winery is Fattoria Nannì, located in the Contrada di Arsicci in the municipality of Apiro near Macerata, founded in the early 2010s by Roberto Cantori has turned out to be a great winemaking success. Him a young boy, after years of study and work he decided to start his project of producing a wine in the full expression of its territory of origin, bought some old Verdicchio vineyards at the foot of Mount San Vicino planted in 1967 and extended his property by planting new rows up to 5 hectares. A strong advocate of the organic method to reduce environmental impact, he obtains certification by practicing natural crops such as green manure and preserving the surrounding ecosystem. All of this encourages meticulous work in the vineyard where thinning, selection and manual harvesting are carried out while in the winery, modern technology is used in winemaking processes and only steel tanks in aging thus maintaining the organoleptic profile of the grapes themselves. Pure Marche expression in an authentic producer-vine-cellar flow that has found its total harmony in the wine.
