Conterno Fantino – Barolo Mosconi – 2011

We are talking about 1982 when Claudio Conterno and Guido Fantino decide to combine their knowledge and found the Conterno Fantino company, a fairly unusual choice in the Langa, where usually the wine producer is an individual job! The wines are immediately characterized by an expressive approach that consists of a rich and fruity mold.
Today there are 27 hectares of vineyards and the vines are managed organically and extend over the best crus of the entire area of Barolo, Ginestra, Mosconi, Castelletto and Bussia.
The cellar was recently renovated and is based on the use of renewable sources and techniques aimed at energy saving. The style is undoubtedly modern, but we see an evolution anyway, with a smaller, more measured contribution of wood.

Mosconi, an important cru in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba, a well-deserved reputation as the Barolos of this area are characterized not only by their quality but also by their very particular style, able to combine power and balance. From plants with an average age of 40 years, on soils rich in silt and clay, the Conterno Fantino company produces a Barolo capable of giving us great emotions, structure, austerity and fully integrated tannins.
2011, a vintage that we can define as fantastic for its promptness and immediate pleasure, if you don’t have the patience to wait a long time to drink your Barolo this is the vintage for you!
