Clos l’Eglise – Pomerol – 2010

Clos l’Eglise with its only 6 hectares is located in Pomerol, already considered in the early 1920s among the best Chateau according to the classification of Pomerol’s grands crus. The history of the winery dates back to 1700, at the time one of the largest maison in the heart of Pomerol (14 hectares), but after various divisions and succession of owners, in 1997 it was bought by the Garcin-Cathiard family. The winery’s philosophy is to continue producing traditional wines, following nature, respecting the gravelly and ferrous soils that make the wines of this area unique. The Chateau only produces a single wine made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, aged for 18-24 months in new French oak barrels. Only 25000 bottles produced, it goes without saying that this wine is majestic, with its elegance and refinement, mellow and round but with a very long persistence. Among other things, the 2010 vintage was categorized among the best! Great bottle.
