Cascina Roccalini – Langhe Nebbiolo – 2019

Cascina Roccalini represents the REAL Langa winery. Managed by Paolo Veglio, a true vigneron of yesteryear has cultivated the family’s 5 hectares of vineyard with all his passion for his land since he was a child, but only since 2004 does he come out with his own label. The vines are all located in the Roccalini cru (where the company then takes its name), one of the most renowned and qualitative Nebbiolo vineyards from Barbaresco, with perfect southwest exposure and clayey soils. In fact, this vineyard was noted precisely for its quality of grapes by the legendary Bruno Giacosa, so much so that it rented the parcel from Paolo Veglio’s father until 2004.
Paolo’s style is simple, low yields, zero use of chemicals, long submerged cap fermentation in concrete tanks and aging in large barrels.
His wines are majestic, clean, structured but refined, which have now become a symbol for Langa wines.
Its Langhe Nebbiolo is produced from the youngest plants of the Roccalini cru in less than 7000 bottles. Refinement only in concrete tanks, but despite this, it is a great Nebbiolo, long tannins and persistence. Its sweet aromas will deceive you, because in the mouth it has all the power of a small barbaresco. Not to be underestimated.
