Ca’ Rome’ – Langhe Nebbiolo Calimpia – 2016

Ca’ Rome’ was born in the 80s in Barbaresco from the passion for the land of Romano Marengo, thanks to his thirty years of experience in the wine industry, he decided to pursue his dream and build his own reality. This was made possible thanks to the help of his wife Olimpia, and their children. Now his son Giuseppe is leading the winery with all his determination and he personally follows with great technique every process from vineyard to cellar, of course always listening to his father’s wise advices. The philosophy of the winery is to produce genuine wines, supporting the vineyard with organic products, low yields in order to make the energy of the plant concentrate all on the bunch and in the cellar they use racking and filling to clean the wines. In total the winery cultivates 5 hectares of vineyards divided between Barbaresco and Serralunga producing clean and traditional wines, just to exalt the two different territories.
Langhe Nebbiolo is produced with the youngest vines used for Barbaresco, it is aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks, plus 8 months in bottle. This represents a great Nebbiolo, made with the same quality mindset as a great wine. Small Barbaresco, fresh, structured, austere, violet and licorice on the nose.
