Bruno Rocca – Barbaresco Rabajà – 2013

The Rocca family, present in the municipality of Barbaresco since 1834, is among the first producers of Barbaresco thanks to the foresight of grandfather Francesco who in the 1950s decided to buy the famous cru Rabaja. With the entry into the company of his son Bruno, the quality of the wines produced rises, thanks also to the purchase of the best Crus in the area and after years of study and various trips to Burgundy he decides to focus everything on territoriality, producing elegant wines with a strong character. . Today the company owns 14 hectares which include the prestigious Rabaja and Currà crus for an annual production of 75,000 bottles. Rabajà occupies the highest part of the hill, a long slope divided into two sectors that produce wines with a substantial and decisive style. The Rocca family is particularly linked to this vineyard precisely because their history began here, their barbaresco perfectly reflects the characteristics of this cru, a unique wine that never betrays! The 2013 vintage brought us back to the past, when Nebbiolo was harvested in late October, but this delay made it possible to achieve an excellent concentration of aromas, coloring matter and sugars. In short, a structured and long-lived vintage, we can undoubtedly say “classic”!
