Bruna Grimaldi – Barolo Camilla – 2020

Barolo Camilla symbolizes the entry Barolo of Grimaldi winery. Absolutely not second in quality, but it is produced with the assemblage of many vineyards located between Grinzane Cavour, La Morra and Verduno, where soils are leaner and rich in sand giving the wines an easier drinking and aromas of berries. The wine is aged for 24 months in large oak casks and for 2 years in bottle. One of the Barolos I love the most for its pleasantness, without too many frills. Classic, clean, elegant.

Description

Bruna Grimaldi winery was established in 1957, but only thanks to the precious contribution of Giovanni Grimaldi, in the ’60s they started producing wine and selling it in bulk. Among the first ones to focus on the quality of wine, Giovanni decides from the beginning to work in respect of vineyards and wine. Years pass by but the ethics of the winery does not change, in the vineyard there is a lot of manual work and no chemical weeding is practiced, the yields per hectare are very low in order to exalt the quality of grapes.
Today the winery is run by Bruna Grimaldi, enologist and woman of wine, together with her husband Franco and her children Simone and Martina. A purely family reality!
