Bruna Grimaldi – Barolo Bricco Ambrogio – 2018

Bricco Ambrogio is the only cru located in the commune of Roddi. We are in the upper part of the denomination, almost on the border with Roero, with a completely southern exposure and steep slopes, here the soils are shallow and rich in grey marl and sand giving the wines a more mature aroma, but great elegance in the mouth. This wine cannot help but make you fall in love with its irresistible aromas of black cherry, strong acidity and great determination. Elegant Barolo yes, but not only. Perfect for any occasion.
In 2018, the wine plays more on delicate rosehip and violet aromas and a more pronounced freshness in the mouth.

Description

Bruna Grimaldi winery was established in 1957, but only thanks to the precious contribution of Giovanni Grimaldi, in the ’60s they started producing wine and selling it in bulk. Among the first ones to focus on the quality of wine, Giovanni decides from the beginning to work in respect of vineyards and wine. Years pass by but the ethics of the winery does not change, in the vineyard there is a lot of manual work and no chemical weeding is practiced, the yields per hectare are very low in order to exalt the quality of grapes.
Today the winery is run by Bruna Grimaldi, enologist and woman of wine, together with her husband Franco and her children Simone and Martina. A purely family reality!
