Bruna Grimaldi – Barolo Badarina – 2016

The Bruna Grimaldi company was founded in 1957, but only thanks to the invaluable contribution of Giovanni Grimaldi, in the 1960s it started producing wine and selling it in bulk. Among the first ever to focus on the quality of wine, Giovanni decides from the beginning to work respecting the vineyards and the wine. The years pass but the ethics of the cellar does not change, in the vineyard there is a lot of manual and chemical weeding is practiced, yields per hectare are very low precisely to enhance the quality of the bunches.
Today the company is led by Bruna Grimaldi, oenologist and woman of wine, together with her husband Franco and her children Simone and Martina. A purely family reality!
The “Badarina” Barolo from the cru of the same name located in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba, is the historic vineyard of the family, the mother of Bruna already owns a few hectares.
The soils in this area are rich in layers of limestone and clay, thus giving bony and tannic wines. In this Barolo, processed and aged in the traditional way, you will find a wine rich in aromas, thanks also to the feminine touch of Bruna, but with great structure and pleasantness at the same time!
