Brezza – Barolo Cannubi – 2019

Having vineyards in the Cannubi hill is no small feat…few wineries have the privilege of having a few pieces of acreage, and the Brezza family is one of them! This vineyard gives fruit with superior aging potential and aromas and sweetness that no other vineyard can impart. In short, it is a mythical vineyard, so much so that it was mentioned as early as 1752 in a bottle, a time by the way where wine production was not so renowned. Cannubi gives austere wines, with scents of rose hips and spices on the nose with super balanced tannins and acidity, this thanks to the union of the two soils of sand and clay that are concentrated in the very same hill. This wine fully represents these characteristics, a wine to drink at least once in a lifetime!

Description

The Brezza winery is located in the center of the village of Barolo and was founded in 1885, but began bottling its own wine in 1910. Today we are in the fourth generation, but the size of the winery is still the same and it is absolutely family-run.
Their philosophy is to vinify each vineyard individually to enhance each soil type and to work in the vineyard and cellar cleanly, using no pesticides and only large barrels for aging, so much so that they have been certified organic for more than 20 years.
