Brezza – Barolo Cannubi – 2005 – MG

The Brezza winery is located in the center of the village of Barolo and was founded in 1885, but from 1910 it began to bottle its own wine. Today we are in the fourth generation, but the dimensions of the cellar are always the same and the management is absolutely familiar. Their philosophy is to vinify each vineyard individually to enhance every type of soil and to work in the vineyard and in the cellar in a clean way, not using pesticides and only large barrels for aging, so much so that they have been certified organic for more than 20 years. Having vineyards on the Cannubi hill is no small thing … few wineries have the privilege of having a few pieces of hectare, and the Brezza family is one of them! This vineyard gives fruits with a superior aging potential and aromas and a sweetness that no other vineyard can give. In a nutshell, it is a mythical vineyard, so much so that it was already mentioned in a bottle in 1752, a time, among other things, where wine production was not so renowned. Cannubi gives austere wines, with aromas of wild rose and spices on the nose with super balanced tannins and acidity, thanks to the union of the two soils of sand and clay that are concentrated in the same hill. This wine fully represents these characteristics, a wine to drink at least once in a lifetime!
