Braida – Barbera d’Asti Ai Suma – 2017

We are in Rocchetta Tanaro, a very small town in the Asti area, here begins the story of the Braida winery linked to the Bologna family, which today has reached its third generation. A beautiful story, made of passion, tradition, identity and territory. Giacomo Bologna believed in the potential of Barbera from the beginning, it can be said that it was he, with the Bricco dell’Uccellone and other wines that made the history of Italian enology, who overturned what were the convictions most common on this vine. The work in the vineyards is carried out in the most natural way possible, in the cellar he inserts the use of barriques and with this combination of innovation and tradition he always gives us wines of great impact, a happy combination of elements that develop projects that respect the environment, tradition, of human value. At Suma, a unique representation of Barbera, the grapes are harvested late in a Rocchetta Tanaro cru from older plants. It is produced only in the best vintages, a surprising wine for its complexity perfectly balanced with elegance and aroma. This bottle represents the qualitative apex of the company, just as the name “Ai Suma” implies, which in Piedmontese dialect means “Here we are”.
