Bodega DiamAndes – Grande Reserve Malbec-Cabernet – 2015
We are in Argentina, to be precise in the Valle de Uco where the vineyards are at varying altitudes between 900 and 2000 meters, the soils are poor, stony and calcareous, the intensity of sunlight favors color, aromas and even tannins .
We are talking about 2005 when the French Bonnie family, owners of the renowned Chateau Malartic-Lagravière and Chateau Cazin-Rocquencourt, decided to explore new horizons and bought 130 hectares in this fantastic wine province and thus Bodega DiamAndes was born. Immediately it became part of the Clos de lo Siete, the project initiated by Michel Rolland, an innovative concept to which 4 families already linked to the world of wine joined. In the vineyards the work is meticulous, the density per hectare is 5,500 plants, the vines are irrigated by drop and harvested manually.
DiamAndes de Uco Gran Riserva is a wine where the protagonist is obviously the king of Argentine vines, Malbec which always gives the softest and velvety part, together with Cabernet Sauvignon which instead gives structure and complexity. A memorable, seductive, extremely balanced bottle so representative that with every sip you will seem to grasp a part of this fantastic land!
