Fiasco, a small appellation but of great importance in the commune of Castiglione Falletto, right in the highest and best exposed part, Azelia winery has been producing Barolo Bricco Fiasco since 1978. Description

Winery founded in 1920 in Castiglione Falletto, now the winery owns 16 hectares but it is still a family business. Wine is still made in the “old fashioned way”, very low yields from old vines and accurate work in the vineyard, mainly large casks and maximum respect for aging times, wines are released on the market only when they are ready. Their vineyards are located between the communes of Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba, two villages so close to each other but completely different for the type of soil: in the first one is rich in sand giving finesse and aromas to the wine, the second one has limestone and blue marl giving harder and tannic wines.
