Agrapart & Fils – Champagne 7 Crus Extra Brut

The only Champagne made from the blending of the winery’s 7 crus in which the overall expression of the terroir is to be brought out to its maximum potential. A cuvée of 90% Chardonnay from 4 Grand Cru (Avize, Oger, Cramant, Oiry) and 10% Pinot Noir from 3 Premier Cru (Avenay val d’Or, Coligny, Vauciennes), vineyards with an average age of 40 years where, thanks to the chalk-rich soils, wines of great aromatic power are produced. This bubbly is produced from the cuvées of the 2018 and 2017 vintages, part of which was aged in barrels before being assembled for the second fermentation in the bottle that lasted 20 to 32 months. This is a true novelty, an expression of the terroir in an unprecedented harmonious context, very varied aromas from white fruit to iodine notes that anticipate a drink of freshness and vivacity with a savory and persistent finish.

Description

A maison synonymous with quality, Agrapart & fils has always stood out in the appellation, among the few Récoltant Manipulant still in existence, they do not sell or buy the grapes but produce their labels taking care of the whole process. The winery is located in Avize on the Cote des Blanc, it was in 1894 that Arthur Agrapart decided to buy some parcels in some of the best crus in the area for Chardonnay with small parts of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Today the entire estate is managed by brothers Pascal and Fabrice Agrapart, there are 12 hectares planted with vines mainly distributed in the Grand Cru of Avize, Oger, Cramant and Oiry where the tradition has been continued in total respect for the environment with use of natural products in the vineyards guaranteeing the quality of the grapes. Wines with many identities that reflect the essence of the terroir, winemaking in the cellar is separate for each parcel where both steel tanks and wooden barrels are used, use of indigenous yeasts and permanence on fine lees before long aging in the bottle so as to obtain finesse in the bubbles. The search for details is what has characterized their philosophy since birth.
