Francesco Versio – Barbaresco DOCG – 2019
His Barbaresco comes from the vineyards planted by his grandfather in the commune of Neive in the San Cristoforo and Curra crus. The wine has aged for 15 months in a 20-hectoliter wooden barrel and 2 500-liter tonneaux, the rest of the aging is in the bottle. A great Barbaresco, spicy and perfumed, but with tannins to persist and a great freshness!

Description
Francesco Versio is one of those guys I like to call ” Garagiste “.
A boy in his thirties, with a degree in oenology, very humble, he found work early in one of the most famous wineries in Langa: Bruno Giacosa. It was here that he became the right-hand man of one of Langa’s most famous and talented oenologists, Dante Scaglione. Slowly he began to work alongside Dante as a consultant in several wineries in the Barbaresco and Barolo areas, until he followed and became the official winemaker of the Oddero Luigi winery in La Morra. His fame does not end there, he was considered in 2015 best winemaker under 35! A true talent!
His personal project started in 2012 in Neive, when he began making wine from his grandfather’s grapes from the San Cristoforo and Currà vineyards. He produces only a Nebbiolo, a Barbaresco and a Dolcetto in very few bottles, but his technique is so high that he is one of the most sought-after names by wine lovers! Genuine wines, but with a great texture and beautiful complexity!
