Vietti – Barolo Castiglione – 2018
Before the custom of making wine separately, wineries used to produce an assemblage wine with grapes coming from different areas, Vietti follows the tradition with Il Barolo Castiglione whose grapes come from small and important vineyards scattered among the communes of Castiglione Falletto, Monforte d’Alba, Barolo and Novello. The work in the vineyard is meticulous but it is even more meticulous in the cellar, where each cru is vinified separately in order to exalt the characteristics of each terroir. The resulting wine will surprise you for its expressiveness, power and immediacy. 2017 perfect vintage for a wine that is more mouthwatering to drink and balanced. If you want a great wine but with more ready sensations, this is for you!!!

Description
We are talking about the end of 1800’s, when Carlo Vietti founded the winery in the small town of Castiglione Falletto, understanding since the beginning the great potentialities that this territory could have. In 1919 his son Mario started producing the first wines. However the history of the winery was marked by the great enologist Alfredo Currado, the first ever to vinify single vineyards and in 1961 Barolo “Rocche di Castiglione” was released on the market.
Today the winery is one of the most important ones of the whole Barolo area, in fact in 2016 it was bought by the American Krause Holdings, allowing the family to enlarge their patrimony while continuing to produce wines of great territoriality and value.
