Tibaldi – Langhe Favorita – 2022

Among the most popular white grapes in the Langa for its simplicity, Favorita continues to be one of the most popular wines even today because of its very delicate characteristics so much so that in the past it was in fact the “favorite” wine of the King of Savoy. The vineyards from which it is made are two and are located in the communes of Pocapaglia and Santa Vittoria d’Alba where they enjoy both an altitude of around 300 meters and excellent southern exposure favoring aromaticity and minerality given the sandy soils. Fermentations take place separately by parcel in temperature-controlled steel tanks that are then joined by remaining on the fine lees for a few months to amplify everything. Perfumed and tasty, it has floral and fruity hints with evident final typical acidity but sumptuous freshness.

Description

In a land as expansive and varied as the Roero area, perhaps the practice of exploration is the best way to literally discover small wineries still unknown to people from which, however, you would not tire in tasting their wines. The Tibaldi winery was born in 2014 thanks to Monica and Daniela, two sisters moved by the love of being able to produce their own wine by paying homage to and sharing the history and grapes of their homeland near the small village of Pocapaglia. They were one of the classic families who conferred grapes and produced something for themselves from Piedmontese tradition, a condition destined to change by enhancing their resources through commitment and sacrifice. They chose only the grapes of the territory such as Arneis and Nebbiolo distributing in a few bottles a year their selection, a work in the vineyard that follows the principles of organic viticulture with attached certification and vinification in purity without resorting to blends using steel tanks for whites and oak barrels for reds. A quality result made of great cooperation and a lifestyle choice in wanting to create genuine wines in pure Roerino style.
