Terrazzi Alti – Riserva Valtellina Superiore Sassella – 2015

Terrazzi alti is a very small winery led by eclectic vigneron Siro Buzzetti in Valtellina, one of the most interesting wine regions in the Alps. Siro started producing wines in 2005 with just few vineyard plots, until today he is managing one hectare in total. We are located in the Sassella area, famous for making Nebbiolo wines (here called Chiavennasca) more gentle and fresh, cultivated on terraces at an altitude of about 600 meters (1,600 feet), here we are talking about heroic viticulture!
Its Sassella Riserva comes from the selection of the most beautiful vines, it is aged for about 36 months in wood casks and the remaining part in bottle. Less than 1000 bottles produced. Balsamic, mineral, spicy and slightly toasted, full and fresh! A gem.
