Sukula – Barbera d’Alba Meriame – 2018

From Finland with love, so we can start talking about the Sukula Farm, it was 2006 when Riikka and her husband Jyrki manage to buy a small vineyard with an attached farmhouse in the prestigious Meriame cru.
Currently, the property, in organic conversion, extends for about two hectares of vineyards exclusively with Nebbiolo and Barbera, where the work in the vineyard is meticulously carried out by husband and wife while in the cellar they rely on the oenological consultancy of Giorgio Rivetti.
The ideals pursued by Riikka are very simple, love and passion for the land, research and study to constantly improve and absolute respect for every single vine to ensure that it expresses itself at its best.
Still in the Meriame cru, Rikka has decided to keep the existing Barbera rows and produce in super limited quantities a wine that focuses on great drinkability and gastronomic versatility. Hand-picked grapes, fermentation in steel and then a year in barrique, you will be pleasantly surprised by the perfectly balanced fullness and juiciness accompanied by a final clean freshness. A bottle to appreciate in company!
