Rocca di Frassinello – Baffonero – 2016

Rocche di Frassinello was born from the collaboration of two companies known all over the world, Castellare di Castellina and Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite. We are in Maremma, in this area the soils are very similar to those of Chianti and Montalcino while the temperatures are about 6 degrees higher, therefore with an early ripening capacity of the grapes even 4 weeks. In this well-suited area there is a special vineyard, predominantly clayey soil, a light sea breeze that mitigates the climate both in winter and in summer. BaffoNero is born here, the flagship wine of this company, pure merlot.
Baffo Nero was the nickname of a legendary farmer in the area, who was also the ancient owner of the vineyard from which it derives, and giving this imposing red that name wants to reaffirm the belonging of this wine to its territory. We are talking about two mythical companies that have made the history of wine and also from this joint venture they have managed to obtain great results. The work in the vineyard is obsessive, only the most beautiful grapes are selected and very few bottles are produced, the wine obtained is intense, powerful but not heavy, we can define it as a true champion!
