Poderi Aldo Conterno – Langhe Bianco Bussiador – 2015

Aldo Conterno is one of those leading names in Langa…one of those who made the history of Barolo, which you place as a reference for quality. The winery was born in Monforte d’Alba in the village of Bussia in the 60’s thanks to Aldo, always attracted by the world of wine, after a long wine experience in California with an old uncle, he decided to come back home and start producing wines in the historical family estate. However Aldo was ambitious, he had his own idea about wine…and that’s how he bought Tenuta Favot and started producing great wines, such as Barolo Gran Bussia, Romirasco, Cicala, all micro-zones which have always been considered the best in the Bussia vineyard. There is also the production of a great white wine such as Chardonnay vinified in wood, which has become a symbolic wine, one of the first international white wines produced in a land such as Langhe, famous for its austere and tannic Nebbiolo.
The style of the winery is to work with the highest respect for the plant, few bottles are produced for each wine, but there are no compromises, except for making them with high quality.
The winery became famous just for keeping a very high quality standard, producing wines, but mainly Barolo wines, always full bodied, with dusty but austere tannins. As for its Langhe Bianco Chardonnay, it always comes from the Bussia vineyard, it does both the fermentation and the aging in wood casks and it is a great white, full bodied, smooth, with great freshness which allows it to be a wine of great longevity. A supreme wine.
In 2015 you will find a really full-bodied, buttery white with ripe tropical fruits, but very fresh. Very pleasant to drink, but remarkable in its ability to age.
